0. Preface

Siemens 840D CNC system is a high-end product of Siemens CNC series, based on open system, it has a strong network function. The modern CNC system is powerful, but its operation is complicated. Sometimes there are some problems like this. The use of the manufacturer's maintenance ability is also uneven. Sometimes only a few minor problems will cause the machine tool builders to come to repair, causing a lot of extra The cost, and Siemens powerful network function can solve these problems through the remote diagnosis function.

The Siemens remote diagnosis function is to perform on-site service via telephone line or network cable. The remote diagnosis can be used to switch the scene's screen to the engineering and technical personnel. The data loss caused by the operation mistakes and improper operation can be directly performed to restore the data and reduce the maintenance pressure. Its functions are: a. remote control and monitoring; b. file transfer; c. effective security measures to prevent unauthorized access (user name and password, operator permissions).

The man-machine interface of Siemens 840D CNC system is based on personal PC platform, there are two kinds of PCU50, PCU70, their operating system also has two NT4.0, WindowsXP, and the man-machine interface software is mostly HMI-Advanced, the interface is Figure 1 shows.

The necessary conditions for the remote diagnosis function are: a.840D CNC and remote diagnosis PC has the ability to connect to each other, such as the Internet or WAN; b. CNC system installation diagnostic service software; c. Remote PC installation diagnostic observation software.

Remote diagnostic software is purchased from Siemens, which is provided on CD-ROM. Specific diagnostic functions are implemented in two parts: software installation and remote connection.

1. Installation of software

1.1 CNC system remote diagnosis service installation

Since the PCU does not have an optical drive, the installation file must be copied to the hard disk of the PCU and then installed before installation. The PCU must be restarted after installation. After restarting, press MENU-DIAGNOSIS-REMOTEdiagnosis in the HMI software interface to open the remote diagnostic software we installed (Figure 2). The first time the software is opened, the connection wizard prompts us to set up the connection because the PCU is a remote connection server. , so you can not make connection settings.

1.2 Remote PC Remote Diagnostic Viewer

The method for installing the remote PC is the same as that for the PCU. After the installation, restart the computer.

2. Remote diagnosis connection

In addition to installing the ReachOut software on the PCU and remote computers, the remote diagnosis function requires some preparation:

2.1 Remote CNC Machine Settings

a. Firstly, there must be an interface or a telephone line connected to the network at the remote CNC terminal. This article only introduces the network connection function; b. After the conditions for connecting to the network, you need to know the address of the network interface on the network, that is, the IP address; When ready, the diagnostics window, MENU_DIAGNOSIS_REMOTEdiagnosis, opens on the remote CNC.

2.2 Remote PC Settings

Open the diagnostic program on your PC. The wizard prompts you to connect for the first time as shown in Figure 3.

Select the connection method as Network, and click Next, as shown in Figure 4.

In the Remote computer's name window, fill in the IP address of the remote machine that you already know. Select the Network type as TCP/IP. Click Finish to create a connection to the remote machine (Figure 5).

After that, you can connect to the interface of the remote machine tool, double-click the established connection, enter the user name (Figure 6) and password of the remote computer according to the prompts, the secondary user name of Siemens for the machine manufacturer is generally AUDUSER, and the Siemens first-level user name Is ADMINISTRATOR.

If the password is correct, you can see the remote computer's interface.

This allows the machine to do some diagnostics and repair work with a remote PC. If you can restore NC, PLC data, file transfer, if the PCU is installed STEP7, then you can also modify the PLC program and so on.

3. summary

When installing ReachOut software, it is necessary to pay attention to the version. Some versions may cause problems when installed under the Windows XP system of the PCU50. This document describes the successful installation and connection of the PCU50WINNT4.0 remote PC to the WIN98 system.

Before connecting, pay attention to the anti-virus ability of the control PC to prevent infection of the machine tool and cause the machine system to fail.
