2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-20-20 (more)
I just got some shots from Tim Olk of the big fire at that commercial building in Chicago on January 20th. The smoke was absolutely massive! Check out these images he sent over.

The first photo really captures the scale of it. You can see the thick plume rising high into the sky. It’s crazy how quickly those flames spread.

This one shows a different angle. The intensity is insane - you can almost feel the heat just looking at it. Definitely not something you want to witness up close!

Here’s another perspective from further away. Still gives you a sense of how dramatic the situation was. Tim mentioned they evacuated the area pretty quickly once it started.

And here’s one more for now. This final shot really highlights the effort crews were making to get things under control. There’s still more coverage coming though – I’ll update with additional photos as soon as I have them.
It’s always tough to see places go up like this, but thankfully no major injuries were reported. Looking forward to seeing how they handle cleanup and recovery moving forward.
