Diamond is commonly known as the "diamond," and PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) is used for drawing steel wire, copper wire, aluminum wire, stainless wire, and other metal wires. It is a mineral composed of pure carbon and is the hardest substance in nature. Scientists confirmed that diamond is made of pure carbon in the 18th century. Since then, research into synthetic diamonds has progressed significantly, especially with the development of high-pressure and high-temperature techniques in the 1950s. Synthetic diamonds are now widely used across various industries, particularly in the mold manufacturing sector.

Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) has a structure very similar to natural diamond and exhibits excellent toughness due to the combination of unsaturated bonds. This makes it ideal for use in industrial applications where durability and precision are essential.

Cable wire drawing dies use diamond fine powder, combined with cobalt catalyst or silicide, to create diamond aggregates under high temperature and pressure. There are two main types of diamond processes: one is polycrystalline diamond based on cobalt, which closely resembles the properties of silicon-based polycrystalline diamond, while the other is imported polycrystalline diamond. The physical properties and product stability between these two types can vary significantly.
