Screw Fine Sand Washer - Application
The overflow spiral blade is positioned higher than the overflow level, and the center of the spiral is lower than the overflow surface. This high weir spiral classifier is ideal for classifying ores with particle sizes ranging from 0.83 to 0.15 mm.
Screw Fine Sand Washer - Working Principle
Grinded pulp is fed into the tank through the inlet located in the middle of the settling area. The slurry classification sedimentation area lies beneath the inclined tank. A low-speed rotating spiral stirs the slurry, allowing fine particles to rise while coarse particles sink to the bottom. The overflow weir is above the bearing center, which is under the screw shaft, and below the overflow end.

Washing: The sand is fed into the sediment pool from the feeding box, where it is acted upon by the rotating screw blade. The sand turns and rolls, grinding against each other to remove impurities and the water-air layer around the sand, facilitating dehydration. The rising current of fresh water from the porous plate at the bottom of the sediment pool carries foreign matter to the water surface, overflowing over the weir plate, completing the washing process.
