+ SOCKET WELD FITTINGS
A socket weld is a type of pipe connection where the pipe is inserted into a recessed area of a valve, fitting, or flange. Compared to butt-weld fittings, socket weld fittings are typically used for smaller pipe diameters (Small Bore Piping), generally for pipes with a nominal diameter of NPS 2 or smaller.
To join pipes to valves, fittings, or other sections of piping, fillet-type seal welds are commonly used. Socket-welded joints are ideal when high leakage integrity and strong structural strength are critical design factors.
Although fatigue resistance is lower than in butt-welded construction due to the use of fillet welds and abrupt geometry, it still offers better performance than most mechanical joining methods.
Socket weld fittings are widely used in high-pressure applications across various industrial processes.

Threaded joints are one of the oldest methods of connecting piping systems. Like socket weld fittings, threaded fittings are mainly used for small pipe diameters (Small Bore Piping), typically for pipes with a nominal diameter of NPS 2 or smaller.
