On March 10th, 2024, the Bensenville Fire Department responded to a still alarm at 902 Route 83, which is home to a Ryder truck rental facility. Multiple panel trucks caught fire at the rear of the business. The Bensenville Fire Department (BFD) Engine 108 deployed 600 feet of 4-inch hose to a hydrant on Route 83 while firefighters also laid out 2.5-inch hose lines to tackle the blaze. They received assistance from an engine company and a battalion chief from Wood Dale, along with an Itasca ladder truck. It took approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
