Late this evening (April 17, 2013), the Berwyn Fire Department received a call about a fire near the intersection of Stanley Avenue and Grove Avenue. When the first responders arrived, they saw thick smoke billowing from the roof of a two-story structure. This building had shops on the ground floor and apartments on the second. Engine 900 established command on Grove Avenue and reported that two hoses were being deployed for an interior firefighting effort. Truck 904 was positioned on the roof, while Quint 901 was ready with a master water stream, though it wasn’t ultimately needed. It’s worth noting the new SUV assigned to Incident Command 900, along with the updated red and white LED light bar installed on Engine 902. Here are some of my photos.
