Box alarm in Mundelein, 1-6-18
Mundelein firefighters responded to a fire at 115 Pinehurst Drive on Saturday night, January 6th, 2018, around 8:30 PM. The incident involved a fire in an attached garage. Upon arrival, crews found the garage fully engulfed in flames. Within minutes, Battalion 43 requested a MABAS Box Alarm, bringing additional resources to the scene. Firefighters launched an aggressive attack using three hose lines, which successfully prevented the fire from spreading into the main house. One vehicle in the garage was completely destroyed, while another in the driveway sustained significant damage.
The response included units from Mundelein, such as an engine, tower ladder, ambulance, and a battalion chief. Additional engines arrived from Countryside, Grayslake, and Wauconda, along with trucks from Libertyville and Lake Forest. A squad from Fox Lake and Countryside Chief 4100 also joined the effort. The coordinated response helped contain the fire quickly and effectively.
