House fire in Aurora Township, 5-14-17
Dave Weaver just sent over some details and photos from the fire incident he witnessed in Aurora Township. It happened on May 14, 2017, when there was a general alarm for a house fire at 2220 W. Prairie Street. The fire departments involved were Montgomery and Countryside FPD.
I’ve included some of the photos he captured below. The first one shows a Montgomery & Countryside FPD fire truck responding to the scene. You can also see some firefighters working with hoses at the fire site in another image. There’s also a picture of Aurora FD Engine 10 with its lines off, indicating they were actively engaged in fighting the flames. One shot captures thick smoke billowing from the roof of the burning house, while others show firefighters working hard to ventilate the roof under challenging conditions.
