Older engines leave the area

<

Bill Friedrich has shared some updates about two local fire departments that have recently sold their older fire engines. These units, no longer in service, are now being relocated to new homes. The first unit is a 1993 E-One Cyclone pumper from the Addison Fire Department. It has been sold and will soon be shipped to Argentina. This engine is equipped with a Detroit Series 60 engine, an Allison HD740 transmission, and a Hale pump capable of delivering 1,250 gallons per minute with a 750-gallon water tank. The vehicle was a reliable workhorse for many years before its sale. ![Addison Fire District E-ONE Cyclone engine](image-url) *This 1993 E-One Cyclone engine was recently sold and will be shipped to Argentina. This unit was used as a rescue pumper and served the community well before being transferred to its new location. ![Flossmoor Fire Department HME Luverne engine](image-url) *X-Flossmoor Engine 1320 was sold to the Soldier Township Fire Department in Kansas. These transactions highlight how older fire apparatus can find new life in different parts of the country or even abroad. It's always interesting to see where these vehicles end up after they're retired from their original departments.
