Steve Redick captured a series of powerful images from the fire that broke out on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago on March 11th, as previously mentioned HERE. The incident involved a significant response, including a foam unit (6-3-1), which used high-expansion foam to help suppress the blaze. Although Steve arrived later than he would have preferred, he was still able to document many key moments during the active firefighting operation.
One of the standout shots shows Engine 35's deck gun in action at the rear of the building, where flames were venting through the roof. Another image features Tower 10, positioned safely among utility wires in the alley, deploying an elevated master stream to assist with the fire. Engine 56 can be seen stationed at a hydrant near Lincoln and Southport, while Engine 112 was working to keep water flowing into the sewers, helping manage runoff from the ongoing suppression efforts.
Foam Unit 6-3-1 was also on scene, working alongside trucks 28 and 44, as firefighters used a hand line from an exposure building to tackle the flames. Squad 1’s 55-Snorkel was deployed in sector 1, with a visible foam chute feeding into the structure. Meanwhile, Engine 55 was supplying water to Tower 21, and Engine 106 was pumping to companies further down the street.
