Split electromagnetic flowmeter installation precautions

It is very important to install the split electromagnetic flowmeter correctly. If a mistake is made in the installation process, it will affect the accuracy of the measurement. In severe cases, it will affect the service life of the sensor and even damage the sensor. Today Xiao Bian came to explain the installation requirements of the split electromagnetic flowmeter in detail, hoping to help users better use the product.

Hour total record function, record the total amount of traffic in hours, applicable to time-based measurement system (optional)
There are three integrators on the inside to display the forward cumulated amount reverse cumulant and difference integrator respectively. There is no internal power off at all and 16 times of power-down time can be recorded. (Optional)
Split electromagnetic flowmeter for straight pipe installation requirements
The electromagnetic flowmeter sensor has certain requirements on the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections of the installation point, otherwise it will affect the measurement accuracy.
If there is a tapered tube upstream of the sensor mounting point, there should be an equal-diameter straight tube section with no less than 15D in the upstream of the sensor, and an equal-diameter straight tube section with no less than 5D in the downstream of the sensor.
If there is a progressive expansion pipe upstream of the sensor mounting point, there should be an equal-diameter straight pipe section with no less than 18D in the upstream of the sensor, and an equal-diameter straight pipe section with no less than 5D in the downstream of the sensor.
If there is a 90° elbow or lower joint upstream of the sensor mounting point, there should be an equal-diameter straight pipe section of not less than 20D upstream of the sensor, and an equal-diameter straight pipe section of not less than 5D downstream.
If there are two 90° elbows on the same plane upstream of the sensor installation point, there should be equal-diameter straight pipe sections of not less than 25D in the upstream of the sensor, and equal-diameter straight pipe sections of not less than 5D in the downstream of the sensor.
If there are two 90° elbows on different planes upstream of the sensor installation point, there should be equal-diameter straight pipe sections of not less than 40D upstream of the sensor and equal-diameter straight pipe sections of not less than 5D downstream.
Flow control valve or pressure control valve should be installed outside the sensor's downstream 5D. If it must be installed upstream of the sensor, the upstream sensor should have an equal-diameter straight pipe section of not less than 50D, and the downstream should have an equal-diameter straight pipe section of not less than 5D.
pay attention
If a valve is installed near the upstream of the sensor installation point and the valve is continuously opened and closed, the service life of the sensor is greatly affected and it is very easy to cause permanent damage to the sensor.
Sensors try to avoid installing sensors on very long pipelines that are overhead. As a result, the sagging of the sensors can easily cause leakage of the seal between the sensor and the flange. If it is necessary to install the sensor, it must be installed at the upstream and downstream 2D of the sensor. Pipe fastening device.
Split electromagnetic flowmeter installation points
The sensor of the split electromagnetic flowmeter should be installed vertically, and the fluid flows from bottom to top to meet the solid and liquid conditions in a mixed state. The reason is that if the medium contains solids (silt, pebble particles, etc.), precipitation may occur. In addition, fish and weeds in the pipeline cause the fish to swim in the pipeline, causing the output of the flowmeter to oscillate back and forth; the weaving back and forth of the weeds hung near the electrodes will also cause the output of the flowmeter to be unstable. A metal strainer is placed at the upstream entrance of the flowmeter to block fish and weeds from entering the measuring tube.
Split electromagnetic flowmeters that prevent negative pressure from setting up the piping will cause negative pressure in the sensor. When the flowmeter is closed at the same time, if the temperature of the fluid is higher than the air temperature, it will contract after cooling, so that the pressure in the pipe may be negative pressure. The negative pressure causes the lining to peel off from the metal conduit, causing the electrode to leak.
A negative pressure prevention valve is added near the split electromagnetic flowmeter, and the valve is opened to connect the atmospheric pressure so as to prevent negative pressure in the sensor. When a vertical pipeline is connected downstream of the split electromagnetic flowmeter, if a flow sensor upstream valve is used to close or regulate the flow, a negative pressure will be formed in the sensor measurement tube. In order to prevent negative pressure, it is necessary to add back pressure or use downstream valves to regulate and close the flow.
Split-type electromagnetic flowmeters have appropriate maintenance space. Large-diameter flowmeters are often installed in meter wells. For the convenience of pipeline installation, wiring, inspection, and maintenance, proper space needs to be reserved. For the convenience of observation, wiring and maintenance, the instrument should be installed with a certain height from the ground in order to facilitate cleaning and installation.
