This is from Larry Shapiro: Schaumburg firefighters were called to 809 Holyoke Court on Friday morning, July 8, 2016, for a fire in the laundry room of a split-level home. When the first units arrived, smoke was visible coming from a window on the lower level, which led to the incident being upgraded to a Code 4 working fire. Upon entry, firefighters found that the fire was confined to one room and quickly extinguished it while also ventilating the smoke. Additional units were later released back to quarters. As a side note, in March 2011, Schaumburg crews responded to a fully involved house fire just across the street, which required a Box Alarm due to its severity. It's always good to see how far fire departments have come in terms of response times and efficiency over the years.
