This is from Larry Shapiro: Schaumburg firefighters responded to a fire at 809 Holyoke Court on Friday morning, July 8th, 2016. The incident began in the laundry room of a split-level home. When the first units arrived, smoke was already visible coming from the lower level window, which led to an immediate upgrade to a Code 4 working fire. Upon entering the structure, firefighters quickly found that the fire was confined to one room and were able to extinguish it efficiently while also ventilating the smoke. Additional fire companies were later released back to quarters. As a side note, in March 2011, Schaumburg crews faced a much more serious situation across the street when a fully involved house fire occurred, requiring a Box Alarm response. It's a reminder of how quickly situations can escalate and the importance of rapid, coordinated action by emergency services.
