New engine for the Itasca FPD

I just got back from the Itasca Fire Protection District where I witnessed the exciting progress on their new Pierce Velocity engine. As the Deputy Fire Chief, it’s always thrilling to see our department invest in state-of-the-art equipment that will keep our team safe and enhance our capabilities. The production photos speak volumes about the quality and attention to detail that goes into building these engines. Take a look at this cab shell—they’ve done an incredible job ensuring there’s enough space and comfort for all of us during long calls. And check out the chevron striping on the side—it’s not just functional but adds a professional touch that reflects our commitment to excellence. One of the most impressive aspects is the interior layout of the cab. Everything feels intuitive, with controls positioned perfectly for quick access when seconds count. The final assembly looks flawless too; the engine is already looking road-ready, and we’re just days away from having it officially handed over. These images really capture how far we’ve come since the planning stages. It’s humbling to think about all the work that has gone into making this happen—from design meetings to now seeing it almost complete. The anticipation is high as we prepare for delivery.
