Of interest … Flight For Life

<

This message comes from Asher Heimermann:

Flight for Life, which celebrated its 35th year of service in 2019, officially closed their helicopter base in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on Friday, January 18, 2019. The base had been operating a medical helicopter out of the city for a decade. According to a post on their Facebook page, the organization is downsizing its fleet of helicopters. While the McHenry, Illinois base will continue to operate as usual, the Waukesha-Milwaukee base is expected to move to the West Bend, Wisconsin area.
Flight for Life also launched a ground ambulance service last October with two ambulances and plans to add a third unit soon, as shared on their Facebook page. This shift suggests the company is adapting its services to meet changing demands, possibly focusing more on land-based emergency response rather than air transport.
It’s interesting to see how organizations like Flight for Life are evolving. While some may view these changes as a step back, others might see it as a strategic move to better serve communities with more flexible and cost-effective options. It's clear that the company is still committed to providing critical care, just in a different way now.
