Chicago Still & Box on 38th Street 5-12-12

On Saturday evening, I got this message from Josh Boyajian while heading into the city: "Hey, just followed a call over to 3318 West 38th Street. When Engine 65 and Truck 52 arrived, they found a pretty intense fire raging on both the first and second floors in Sector 1. Engine 109 quickly moved in and set up a second hose line to tackle the flames on the upper level. Check out these photos I snapped." [Attached are several images.] The first photo shows Chicago Fire Department Engine 65 arriving at the scene, looking absolutely ready to handle whatever comes their way. You can see the determination in the firefighters’ stance as they prepare for action. In another shot, it’s Truck 52 that stands out, its presence commanding attention as it works alongside other units to control the situation. The intensity of the fire is clear even through the lens. There’s also an image capturing several firefighters in action, dousing the flames with water. Their teamwork is evident as they work together to bring the blaze under control. One picture zooms in on the initial response, showing Engine 65 pulling up to the address. It’s a moment frozen in time, showcasing the rapid response of the firefighters. Another angle highlights the sheer scale of the fire, with flames licking at the structure. Despite the chaos, there’s a sense of order as firefighters coordinate their efforts. Finally, one last photo captures Engine 65 again, this time with a bit more distance, allowing you to see the entire operation unfolding. It’s a reminder of the dedication and skill required in such situations. This incident underscores the critical role firefighters play in our communities, especially when facing emergencies like this one. It's always humbling to witness their professionalism firsthand.

FORD VVT SOLENOID

Variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid or oil control valve controls the oil flow according to the engine speed and load. VVT solenoid is a vital part of the variable valve timing system.
The Oil Control Valve (OCV) is a a critical part used in every engine that is fitted with variable valve technology (VVT). A single control valve will regulate the supply of oil to a designated VVT hub, to advance or retard the timing by altering the camshaft angle position. Controlled by the ECU, the OCV receives electrical signals, instructing it to adjust the oil flow as required, in accordance to current driving conditions.
