The Oil Control Valve (OCV) is a a critical part used in every engine that is fitted with variable valve technology (VVT). A single control valve will regulate the supply of oil to a designated VVT hub, to advance or retard the timing by altering the camshaft angle position. Controlled by the ECU, the OCV receives electrical signals, instructing it to adjust the oil flow as required, in accordance to current driving conditions.

"Hey, so I just headed into the city following a call and made my way to 3318 W 38th Street. When Engine 65 and Truck 52 arrived, they found a massive fire raging through sectors one and two on both the first and second floors. It was intense—flames shooting out everywhere. Engine 109 quickly moved in and set up a secondary hose line to tackle the fire on the upper level. I snapped some photos while I was there.
Here’s what it looked like when I got there—chaos but also incredible teamwork. The firefighters were absolutely giving it their all."
