“Sanjin Petrochemical ” is the only privately-owned polypropylene production enterprise in China. Due to its low temperature resistance, impact resistance, and exposure to sunlight, the product is suitable as a special material for car bumpers. The product was immediately sent to the United States for related performance tests after its successful trial production in September last year. It is expected that it will be able to obtain a market access certificate for the automotive sector in September this year. By then, the product will be applied to the production of car bumpers on a large scale. Up to now, the company has formed a production capacity of 600,000 tons of polypropylene, which has exceeded the capacity of large-scale state-owned enterprises such as Shanghai Petrochemical and Yangzi Petrochemical, ranking second in the country. Last year, it achieved sales revenue of 5.5 billion yuan, and it is expected to exceed 8 billion yuan this year.

As a private enterprise, how can we lead the industry? The managers of “Sanjin Petrochemical” clearly realized that in the global demand for polypropylene feedstock—propylene, the Chinese market accounts for more than 15%, and the consumption is still growing at a rate of 5% to 6% per year, but the current The supply of propylene by a few companies needs to be imported from the United States, South Korea, the Middle East, and other places.

“Sanjin Petrochemical” decided to extend the industrial chain in July last year and introduce an annual output of 900,000 tons of propane dehydrogenation to propylene production projects. According to Zhong Jianming, the company originally planned to cooperate with the US LUMISIS company, but after an expert evaluation, it was found that the production line may have an impact on the environment. For this reason, "Sanjin Petrochemical" did not hesitate to choose the United States UOP dehydrogenation process technology. “The two production facilities of this project use platinum catalyst only, it will increase the cost of 400 million yuan, the entire investment has spent 14 billion more, but this is to protect the environment.” Zhong Jianming said.

It is understood that at present, there are only 14 sets of propane dehydrogenation to propylene production facilities in the world, and “Sanjin Petrochemicals” accounted for two sets. Its annual production of 900,000 tons is currently the largest in the world. Zhong Jianming revealed that the first phase of the project is expected to start production in October next year, and sales will reach 18 billion yuan. In addition, “Sanjin Petrochemical” is still preparing new matching sub-projects, such as urine non-wet material, this superabsorbent polyacrylic acid, one gram of material can absorb 500 ml. By 2015, all the projects will be put into production. Sales of Sanjin Petrochemical are expected to reach 28.5 billion yuan.

At the same time, the project introduction and environmental protection complement each other in "Sanjin Petrochemical" performed most vividly. In the large petrochemical plant, there is no smell. Zhong Jianming explained that all projects of the company that have been built or are under construction have achieved full recycling of waste gas and waste, and all of the wastewater has met the standards. For this reason, the company was also rated as a provincial clean production model enterprise.
