(Reporter Li Li) At the 2006 China International Machine Tool Show held in Beijing, a high-end CNC system featuring spline and small line interpolation functions for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers was successfully developed by Beijing Jiaotong University. According to industry experts, this system offers comprehensive functionality, superior processing quality, and enhanced efficiency. It is entirely independently developed with full intellectual property rights and has reached international advanced standards. China's demand for CNC systems is expected to exceed 100,000 units by 2010. However, the country has long relied on imports for high-end CNC systems, particularly those with 5-axis linkage capabilities. High-end numerical control technology is a key indicator of a nation’s industrial automation level. Due to its critical role in aerospace, aviation, and defense sectors, Western countries have historically treated such systems as strategic materials, imposing strict export controls. The BJSK-05M CNC system developed by Beijing Jiaotong University not only supports multi-axis linkage but also ensures stable, continuous operation under industrial conditions. Through independent innovation, it addresses several technical challenges, significantly improving surface processing quality and production efficiency. This breakthrough marks an important step forward in China's efforts to reduce dependence on foreign technology and strengthen its domestic manufacturing capabilities.
