Beijing Jiaotong University developed a high-end CNC machine tool
(Reporter Li Li) A high-end CNC system with spline and small line interpolation capabilities for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers has been successfully developed at Beijing Jiaotong University and is currently on display at the 2006 China International Machine Tool Show in Beijing. According to industry experts, this CNC system offers comprehensive functionality, superior processing quality, and enhanced efficiency. It is entirely developed with independent intellectual property rights and has reached international advanced standards.
Experts note that by 2010, China's demand for CNC systems is expected to exceed 100,000 units. However, high-end CNC systems—particularly 5-axis linkage models—have long been imported from abroad. Advanced numerical control technology is a key indicator of a country’s industrial automation level. Due to its critical role in aerospace, aviation, and defense sectors, Western countries have historically treated such systems as strategic materials, subjecting their export to strict licensing controls.
