Group's total vehicle sales in the first three quarters exceeds one million units
In September, FAW Group achieved another strong performance, with total vehicle sales reaching 128,377 units, marking a year-on-year increase of 21.4%. Car sales alone reached 103,000 units, up by 26.4% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, medium- and heavy-duty truck sales stood at 12,000 units, reflecting a modest growth of 1.6% year-over-year.
So far this year, FAW Group has sold a total of 1,053,949 vehicles in the first three quarters, surpassing the one-million mark. This represents 75.6% of the annual target, which is 2.3 percentage points higher than the same period last year (73.3%). The group's performance also exceeded its annual goal by 19.6% in terms of growth rate.
Car sales for the first nine months totaled 827,000 units, rising by 25.4% year-on-year. In contrast, sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks reached 115,000 units, showing a significant increase of 42.1% compared to the previous year.
FAW-Volkswagen continued its steady performance in September, selling 42,315 units—slightly above the 40,000-unit threshold. This marked a 24.6% year-on-year increase. For the first three quarters, cumulative sales reached 345,353 units. Among its models, the MAGOTAN remained highly popular, even leading to a supply shortage in some regions.
The Liberation Company saw a 14.6% increase in September, selling 9,800 units. Year-to-date, it has sold 100,529 units, representing a remarkable 54.2% growth compared to the same period last year.
Since the start of the year, FAW Group’s overall sales have remained strong. In the first half of 2024, the company sold nearly 700,000 vehicles, exceeding its plan by approximately 40,000 units. Strong performances from both the Liberation brand and FAW-Volkswagen played a key role in driving this success. Sales for these two brands reached 72,000 and 220,000 units respectively, supporting the growth of the entire group’s parts and auxiliary systems, and contributing significantly to overall sales and profit growth.
In the third quarter, FAW Group maintained its positive momentum from the first half of the year. In July, the company sold 114,000 units, breaking the record for the highest monthly sales since March 2006. August saw an upward trend, with 117,000 units sold, and September brought yet another new high, demonstrating sustained strength in the market.
