Group's total vehicle sales in the first three quarters exceeds one million units
In September, FAW Group achieved another milestone in its sales performance, with a total of 128,377 vehicles sold, marking a year-on-year increase of 21.4%. Car sales alone reached 103,000 units, reflecting a strong growth of 26.4% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, medium- and heavy-duty truck sales totaled 12,000 units, showing a modest increase of 1.6% year-over-year.
So far this year, FAW Group has sold a cumulative total of 1,053,949 vehicles in the first three quarters, surpassing the one-million-vehicle mark. This represents 75.6% of the annual target, which is 2.3 percentage points higher than the same period last year (73.3%). Additionally, it exceeds the original annual target by 19.6%, demonstrating solid progress. Car sales for the quarter reached 827,000 units, up 25.4% year-on-year, while medium- and heavy-duty truck sales climbed to 115,000 units, an impressive 42.1% increase compared to the previous year.
FAW-Volkswagen continued its strong performance in September, selling 42,315 units—a significant achievement for a single month. This represents a 24.6% year-on-year increase. Cumulative sales for the first three quarters have now reached 345,353 units. Among its models, the MAGOTAN remains highly popular, with demand outpacing supply in the market.
The Liberation Company also saw positive results in September, with 9,800 units sold—an increase of 14.6% compared to the same month last year. For the first nine months of the year, the company sold 100,529 units, a remarkable 54.2% rise year-on-year.
Since the start of the year, FAW Group has maintained a strong and consistent sales trend. In the first half of 2024, the group sold nearly 700,000 vehicles, exceeding its planned target by approximately 40,000 units. The strong performance was driven largely by FAW-Volkswagen and the Liberation brand, which recorded sales of 72,000 and 220,000 units respectively. These figures not only boosted the sales of core products but also contributed to the overall growth of parts and auxiliary systems, ultimately leading to improved profitability for the entire group.
The momentum from the first half of the year carried over into the third quarter. In July, FAW Group sold 114,000 units, surpassing the highest monthly sales figure recorded in March 2006. August saw a further increase, with 117,000 units sold, and September marked another record high, with sales reaching an all-new level. This consistent upward trend highlights the company’s strong market position and its ability to adapt and grow in a competitive environment.
