05 1.5-litre hatchback fit on October 22 unified listing across the country
(Reporter E Jia) After being available in the market for a month, the 1.3L version of the Honda Fit hatchback is now being followed by the 1.5L model, which will officially hit the national market today. Early bookers of the 1.5L hatchback are reportedly considering trading in their current vehicles. Since September 12, the four hatchback models have been open for reservations, and so far, the total number of pre-orders for the Fit hatchback has exceeded 16,000 units.
According to an official from Guangzhou Honda's general manager's office, the delay in launching the 1.5L model was primarily due to production scheduling. Launching it now provides dealers with more time to prepare and manage inventory. Zeng Qinghong, Executive Vice President of Guangben, confirmed that the company plans to produce and sell 24,000 units of the 2010 Honda Fit hatchback. Currently, nearly 70% of this target has already been secured through pre-orders.
The 1.5L Fit hatchback comes in two variants: a manual transmission model priced at 10.68 million yuan and a CVT continuously variable transmission model priced at 11.68 million yuan. Compared to the 1.3L version launched a month ago, the 1.5L model offers a larger engine, improved fuel efficiency, and additional features such as an electric sunroof, dark privacy glass, and an adjustable driver’s seat for enhanced comfort and convenience.
With the new model now available, consumers are showing strong interest, and the company is confident in meeting its sales targets for the year. This launch marks another step forward in Honda's strategy to strengthen its presence in the compact hatchback segment in China.
