Its joint venture in China, SAIC-GM-Wuling, will export a small commercial vehicle, the Chevrolet "N200," to Peru in small quantities. This is GM's export of Chinese-made automobiles to the Latin American market after the export of Chevrolet Sail from China to Chile in 2007. It is also the first time that GM exports its mini commercial vehicles to the region under the GM brand.
The vehicle exported to Peru this time is Wuling “Hongtu†sold in the domestic market. The mini-vehicle will use the Chevrolet brand for the first time and use GM’s Chevrolet distribution channel in Peru to provide uniform sales and after-sales services.
