From July 7 to 10, Wu Bangguo, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, visited the Hulunbeier, Manzhouli, Ordos, Hohhot and other places in Inner Mongolia. While inspecting the Shenhua Group's coal-to-liquids project under construction in Ordos City, Wu Bangguo requested Shenhua Group to implement the project and strive to master the core technologies of coal-to-liquids.
Wu Bangguo was very concerned about the Shenhua Group's coal-to-oil project. He asked the technicians to learn more about the key technologies and key equipments, and carefully inquired about the process flow and construction progress.
Wu Bangguo pointed out that Inner Mongolia is rich in resources such as coal, oil and gas, and has a vast territory and great potential for development. We must always adhere to the strategic thinking that development is the absolute principle, closely integrate with the actual conditions in Inner Mongolia, earnestly implement the spirit of the Central Government, work creatively and work hard to promote the transformation of economic development methods. We must develop a feature economy according to local conditions, continue to increase structural adjustment and industrial upgrading efforts, and enlarge and strengthen the existing advantageous enterprises, and consolidate and improve the well-known brands. The introduction of well-known large enterprises at home and abroad, adhere to a high starting point, turn resource advantages into economic advantages, and play a leading role in the development of the western region.
Wu Bangguo emphasized that independent innovation is the internal support and inexhaustible motive force for adjusting the economic structure, advancing energy-saving and emission reduction, and transforming the mode of economic development. We must seize the opportune time for the restructuring of economic structure in Inner Mongolia and the optimization and upgrading of industries. Starting from the development of new types of special industries, we should develop a self-innovation approach that focuses on companies as the main body, market orientation, and the combination of production, education and research. We must strengthen the comprehensive utilization of resources, vigorously develop a recycling economy, and strive to promote energy conservation and emission reduction. We must develop the economy on the premise of protecting the ecological environment and work hard to achieve a virtuous circle of continuous ecological improvement and sustainable economic development.
